Fruit topping for Yogurt 

The Story

So you love the fruity bottom in the store bought yogurt? We do too. The good news is you can make it at home for a fraction of the cost plus have left overs to add to other treats like overnight oatmeal or ice cream. The good news, Basically it’s a refrigerator jam.  Any fruit is good for refrigerator jam.  

Sugar and acid balance 

In a nutshell all you need is these ingredients:

1 lb bag of frozen blueberries

1 tsp splash of water  

1 TBSP maple syrup or your sweetener of preference 

1 tsp of arrowroot powder or cornstarch

Cooking Instructions 

 

  1. Place the blueberries in a medium-size saucepan. Turn on the medium heat and let the frozen blueberries warm-up 
  2. On the side, make a slurry with the thickener of your choice (cornstarch or arrowroot)
  3. Macerate it while it continues to cooks
  4. Simmer and continue to mix until the desired consistency is achieved 
  5. Cooldown and add to the bottom of yogurt containers
